Seven Trim Levels to Fill Your Needs
As the leading dealership in Junction City, KS, we're all about pointing our customers in the direction of the trim level that will fit their needs.
The new 2021 RAM 2500 offers seven trim levels: The tradesman, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and Power Wagon. Their capabilities cover labor-intensive needs, off-roading specialties, and everything in between. Let's start from the base level!
Tradesman
Most of you that have watched RAM over the years have come across the Tradesman base trim level in previous years.
As the name would imply, its main purpose is to fulfill the needs of a modern-day tradesman. It comes with the traditional black bumpers, mirrors, and door handles that you would expect.
Inside, the tradesman can look forward to a push-button start, 5-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, Bluetooth (to pair with your phone), a 12-volt power outlet, power-adjustable driver's seat, and an audio system with six speakers around the cabin.
The truck also comes with a 7-pin wiring harness and a Class 5 receiver hitch for those of you that haul a trailer around for your job. The Tradesman also kicks up the security features with hill start assist, trailer sway prevention, and a rearview camera in its base package.
The option Safety Group Package—which you can add to any of the seven trims—includes:
• A Digital Rearview Mirror
• Lane Keeping Assistance
• Adaptive/Automatic Cruise Control
• Blind-Spot Monitoring
• Forward Collision Alert
Big Horn and Lone Star
Technically speaking, these two trim levels are identical. The only difference is that the Big Horn is referred to as the Lone Star trim level in the state of Texas. As a CDJR dealer KS, we refer to it as the former more often.
In any case, the Big Horn/Lone Star trim level gets you started with exterior benefits such as 18-inch wheels, slick-looking bumpers, a chrome grille, and door handles that match the body pain.
Inside, the cabin includes all the benefits of the Tradesman's infotainment system. It places a focus on providing upholstery that's easy to clean, such as cloth bench seating, carpet on the floors, and floor mats in both the front and back of the cabin.
The Big Horn also comes with extended towing mirrors to help you see past the object you're hauling and a trailer brake control feature.
Laramie
For those of you looking to enhance the experience in your heavy-duty truck, the new 2021 RAM 2500 Laramie is the way to go. Outside, it offers you LED foglights and taillights, and wheels with durable aluminum.
Inside is where it really separates itself. It has an 8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch color driver info display, LED interior lighting for energy efficiency, heated leather front seats/steering wheel, a nine-speaker sound system, and two gloveboxes.
That's not all. It also has a dampened tailgate, parking sensors in the front and back, a 115-volt outlet in the front and back, a power-sliding window in the back, and power-adjustable front seats that can be customized in eight ways.
Longhorn
If the Laramie trim level is the jack of all trades, the Longhorn is its luxurious cousin. The Longhorn adds to the Laramie trim's exterior perks with LED projector headlights and chrome-covered side steps.
Inside, the Longhorn adds a Wi-Fi hotspot (perfect for business), navigation features, leather seats that are ventilated in the front, and a steering wheel that's wrapped with wood and leather. Fancy! The Longhorn also shows some love to the truck bed, giving it LED bed lighting, ready-to-use tow hooks, a spray-in bed liner, and a remote tailgate.
Limited
RAM seemingly took a bunch of features on the inside and outside of the new 2021 RAM 2500, then maximized their size for the Limited trim level. On the outside, you'll notice 20-inch wheels, chrome tow hooks, and storage bins inside the short bed.
Inside, you can look forward to a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless charging pad, and next-level interior trim. For safety, you'll enjoy blind-spot alerts with an added cross-path detector.
Power Wagon
Lastly, we have the Power Wagon, the off-roader of the bunch. It shows off its off-roading capabilities aesthetically as well, with all-terrain tires, powder-coated bumpers (front and back), black headlights, and black fender flares around those beautiful tires.
The inside prepares for the dirt, dust, and mud of the road less traveled with power-adjustable cloth bench seating and rubber floor mats in the front and back.
For safety and enhanced driver experience, the Power Wagon has hill-descent control, skid plates under the body, a disconnecting sway bar in the front, and locking axles. The shock absorbers are also given a bump to increase the quality of the drive. It also has an electric winch mounted on so that it can evenly disperse the weight of the object you're looking to pull.
